The GHD television advertisment which used religious imagery like rosary beads and the phrase: “thy will be done” has been banned in the United Kingdom for being offensive to Christians.
The ASA ruled that the advertisement has caused serious offence. Whilst the ASA recognises that GHD have been using the ”new religion for hair” slogan in marketing campaigns for several years, they admit that this time GHD broke television standards with their tV ad’s erotic nature.
GHD’s chief executive Martin Penny, on the other hand, feel that the ruling was “unduly harsh”.
Have your say: Would you take offense to such a television ad?
