The Mayor of West Torrens would like the State Government to look into light rail as an option to ease congestion on roads near Adelaide Airport.

“That’s one thing that would help, we’re not quite sure about how serious the Government is about having a light rail system to the airport,” he said.

“That would be beneficial, having an alternative entrance particularly for say taxis off the Richmond Road entrance would be good.”

However, Transport Minister Patrick Conlon says he will not support the idea due to the unproductive and failed attempts to airports in Australia.
