The Wimmera-Mallee pipeline project has won an environmental sustainability award.

Grampians Wimmera Mallee Water is one of 67 organisations to win an Australian Business Award, from a field of almost 1,000 entrants from various industries.

Manager director Jeff Rigby says the award acknowledges the company’s commitment to preserving and protecting the environment.

He says this has been achieved through overall water savings, by capturing water previously wasted through seepage and evaporation.
