Gindalbie’s multi-billion dollar iron ore project gets go-ahead

The West Australian Government has given final environmental approval for Gindalbie’s multi-billion dollar iron ore project in the state’s mid-west.
Gindalbie is developing the Karara project, east of Geraldton, in a joint venture with Chinese steel producer Ansteel.

Oil spill clean-up expected to cost millions

Employees have been evacuated from a Timor Sea oil rig after an oil and gas spill 3.6km below the surface.

QLD: Shells’ Curtis Island project could generate 3000 jobs

The Queensland Government has declared Shell’s coal seam gas-to-liquefied natural gas (CSG to LNG) project on Curtis Island “Significant” allowing Shell to submit an environmental impact statement.

Lower Darling River contaminated

An outbreak of toxic blue-green algae has been confirmed in the Lower Darling River placing the area around Burtundy on a red level alert for algae.
