Rio Tinto signs copper exploration deals with Codelco

Global mining giant Rio Tinto Ltd has signed two agreements with the world’s largest copper producer CODELCO, to explore for the base metal in Chile.

Geologists discover geothermal energy source in QLD

A large underground basin of “hot rocks” has been discovered by geologists who believe it could provide clean energy to a quarter of Queensland.

Oxiana delivers record copper output for first quarter

Oxiana has delivered a record quarterly output of copper and flagged a continuing rise in the price of the red metal, while warning of a delay to first production from its Prominent Hill project.
